AEW Dynamite had a shockingly small audience turn out, despite claims it was sold out.
AEW has been an ever evolving program with great ratings since the start in 2019. The AEW fanbase has also been growing rapidly.
July 20th’s episode ‘Fyter Fest Week 2 Edition’ took place in GAS South Arena in Duluth Georgia. The Wrestle Tix tweet was the expected amount of fans at the showing.
AEW Dynamite had many great matches. Including Brody King defeating Darby Allin in a almost one sided match, Darby Allen did have some great moments though and support from the crowd.
Another high energy match included John Moxley and Wheeler Yuta defeating Trent Beretta and Chuck Taylor.
Jungle Boy made his surprising return after Christan Cage and Luchasaurus defeated the Varsity Blondes. What was even more surprising was Luchasaurus siding with Jungle Boy after doing Cage’s bidding.
The main event was a grueling barbed wire everywhere match between Eddie Kingston and Chris Jericho. The Jericho Appretiation Society was placed in the cage and later helped to escape by Anna Jay reuniting with Tay Conti.
The match had its ups and downs, like every match does, and a lot of outside interference. The winner of the match was Chris Jericho, but Eddie Kingston had the last laugh by throwing Jericho into a barbed wire spider.
Despite the hype leading to this event, the turn out was not what was expected.
AEW claimed that the arena was sold out throughout the show, but shockingly that was not the case. AEW Botches on Twitter tweeted a picture showing barely any fans in the stands.
