Pat McAfee may very well have signed the most lucrative talent deal in sports media history. McAfee and Fan Duel have signed an agreement for the latter to host Pat’s podcast, “The Pat McAfee Show,” for the next four years in a $30 million per year deal.
The SmackDown announcer’s show has already had a sponsorship deal with FanDuel before re-signing on the dotted line. This new deal is an extension of the original, but with the said amount of money and a chance to grow his podcast. Or he can opt-out of the agreement in 3 years.
As of now, there is yet no word as to just how much of his $30 million will be in base pay against potential affiliate referral enticements. In his video announcing the deal, Pat stated that it would also cover the income for the crew that sets up his studio and podcast. The landmark deal is also said by the NY Post to have coming ripple effects across the industry. If this is true, there may be other similar deals announced in the future.

Further on in the video, he announced that he would be moving his studio to the FanDuel Igloo in the next 4-5 months, where he will remain for the next 3-4 years. He also states that FanDuel’s support will expand his show. Pat also announced a fan contest on Twitter where he will donate more than $1 million to celebrate. He already said he would be giving his crew hefty bonuses from the money and that he would be making his parents into millionaires, and that’s only the tip of the iceberg for what he plans to do.
