It is time for our Wrestlers and Wallad of the Week awards. With the focus of this week being on the return of WWE’s Saturday Night’s Main Event. Each week, me and Chaos will hand out awards based on the events that occur in the world of wrestling!
Just a quick run through of the categories. There will be three awards that will be handed out, men’s wrestler of the week, women’s wrestler of the week and wallad/idiot of the week. Let’s get into this week’s awards!
Men’s Wrestler of the Week: Kevin Owens
Kevin Owens is the most misunderstood wrestler in the business right now, and his crash out at SNME is exactly why he’s got the award this week. Everyone thinks he’s the bad guy in this story, but if one of your best friends teamed up with one of your biggest rivals in WWE, wouldn’t you be frustrated as well? But in all seriousness, this new Kevin Owens is KO at his absolute best. The whole rivalry between him and Cody is definitely up there for the best of the year, and KO’s character development is a major reason why. We are now fully on the “Kevin Is Right” train, and hopefully it takes us to a new WWE Champion soon.
Women’s Wrestler of the Week: Chelsea Green
One of WWE’s most reliable and consistent wrestlers right now is Chelsea Green. No matter how much TV time she is given, she makes the most of every single second of it. Chelsea has been one of the best re-hires from Triple H, and we’ve just been waiting for her to get the big moment she deserves. Which came at SNME, as she beat Michin to become the inaugural Women’s United States Champion. This match was a full circle moment for both women, from facing each other in their time in TNA, to now making history together. Michin absolutely deserves her flowers as well, but Chelsea is the one that won the match and we are really excited to see how this title reign goes for her.
Wallad/Idiot of the Week: YouTube
SNME was a great show, but there was one major problem with it, which was that we could hear Michael Cole’s microphone when we went into an advert break. Now although it was quite interesting to hear what goes on behind the scenes, it took you out of the show and the match quite a bit, so for that YouTube gets the unfortunate award of being this week’s Wallad/Idiot of the Week. Just make sure it’s fixed for the next episode of SNME guys.
