The first NXT Special to leave the CWC this year is live from Charlotte North Carolina. Six big matches with all the championships on the line. DIJAK vs Wes Lee, New Day defend in a fatal four way. Roxanne face Toxic Attraction in a triple threat. Katana Chance and Kayden Carter Vs Kiana James and Fallon Henley. And Bron Breakker Vs Grayson Waller in a steel cage match.

AMAZING Wes Lee Vs DIJAK – NXT North American Championship:

Interestingly, Wes Lee took the first entrance before DIJAK got his entrance. Wes Lee got a couple of Hurricanrana before being caught with a Death Valley Driver on the outside of the ring. Tony D’Angelo and Stacks were the reason Wes Lee was saved from the moonsault. I really enjoyed a lot of the spots in the match and the office chair spot with trapping Lee was great. I’m glad I was proven wrong and DIJAK delivered, probably better than a lot of people were expecting.

Results: Wes Lee By Pinfall via Handspring Double Pele Kick

GOOD Kiana James and Fallon Henley Vs Katana Chance and Kayden Carter – NXT Women’s Tag Team Championships:

The Champs got to come through the crowd and down the stairs, unsure why they didn’t have the smoke guns. Overall this was the women’s match I was worried more about for delivering a good match. My expectations were very much met with the tag team psychology and innovative stuff in the match it was entertaining. I think the championship change was interesting but Its a cool surprise. I wanna give props to all women and I think Kiana James has really earned her place in the card because a lot of people were skeptical of her in the iron survivor match.

Results: Fallon Henley by Pinfall via Leg Crucifix Roll Up with Kiana holding Kayden’s feet.

GREAT Apollo Crews Vs Carmelo Hayes with Trick Williams – 2 Out Of 3 Falls:

Carmelo Hayes and Apollo Crews trade epic entrances with Trick backing Hayes and Apollo showing his first NXT run. I think this match overall struggled with the stipulation. When both wrestlers are really athletic it was a weird choice to have them go a slower approach. There was some innovative stuff in the match and great sequences. Interesting having Melo get a sweep. After the match Dabba Kato, the former Commander Azeez aiding before attacking Apollo post match. I think there was something missing or something didn’t click in this match.

Results: Carmelo Hayes By Sweep Via, First Fall – Carmelo Hayes by Submission via Cross Face, Second Fall – Carmelo Hayes by Pinfall via Diving Leg Drop

Coby Galenzoski WR Star Rating – 3.50 Stars

GREAT Chase U Vs Gallus Vs Pretty Deadly Vs New Day – Fatal Four Way, NXT Women’s Championship:

Worlds Collide had the last fatal four way tag in NXT and that match was a mess. This match had great timing, both the New Day and Chase U were over. I think they put Chase U in the match because of it being Andre Chase’s homecoming. But that’s a very smart move, they put Chase U on the map. There were great spots and solid sequences. I was very shocked that Woods was pinned.

Results: Gallus by Pinfall via Assisted Powerslam on Xavier Woods

GOOD Jacy Jayne Vs Gigi Dolin Vs Roxanne Perez – NXT Women’s Championship:

This match was solid, the crowd was into it. All women did show up and deliver. I think overall it was a good match and I liked the involvement of the table. No complaints for this match. I think its either Roxanne and Tiffany or Cora for the future match. I am glad they had Gigi attempt to save Jacy in the final moments because that means they did not break the team up.

Results: Roxanne Perez by Pinfall via Super Pop Rox on Jacy Jayne

Coby Galenzoski WR Star Rating – 3.25 Stars

GOOD Bron Breakker Vs Grayson Waller – NXT Championship, Steel Cage Match , No Escape:

First off, I do enjoy both men. Breakker and Waller was awesome for the NXT special in January. This match was missing something. I loved the Golden Shoey, I loved the chainmail. Waller is special and was great in the match. Breakker had a phenomenal spear and great speed in moments. But the stipulation also hindered this match. This was not a great steel cage match. It was solid enough but was a step down from New Years Evil. Carmelo Hayes come out of the entrance way and stared down Breakker to finish the show.

Results: Bron Breakker by Pinfall via Running Spear

Coby Galenzoski WR Star Rating – 3.25 Stars

    Overall:

Vengeance Day was a very solid show top to bottom. There was not a true dead spot in the show. Overall the crowd was a really solid crowd but it wasn’t a top takeover crowd. The show flowed great but the only thing that can be said was the main event was not the best match on the card, the opener was. Enough done was to get me the viewer excited to watch what happens next on Tuesday. Solid show overall from Shawn Michaels NXT.
