NXT’s Roxanne Perez has opened up on her experiences at the WWE Tryouts earlier this year, reflecting a lot on their intensity.
Roxanne Perez has been one of the biggest young rising stars in all of NXT, as well as in the entire WWE. After participating on the WWE Tryouts in December 2021, Roxanne Perez achieved her dream of becoming a WWE Superstar in February of the current year.
Ever since arriving to the NXT brand, Roxanne Perez had a notable run and had the opportunity to make her debut in Friday Night SmackDown while being only 20 years old.
During a recent appearance at ‘El Brunch de WWE’, Roxanne Perez opened up about her experiences in the WWE Tryouts. When addressing on this, she said:
“I did one [tryout] in December. That was the normal one that they do where it’s like 50 people and it’s two days and you’re there at the PC. And they called me back and they said, ‘Okay, we’re not hiring you yet. We want to bring you back for an extended tryout in February, and that will be three weeks. So I was there at the PC for three weeks. Every single day, it was like, 8 a.m. till like 8 p.m. … It was intense, and sometimes, during those three weeks, I would get down on myself.”
Roxanne concluded by stating that “The last week, they brought us separately into a room. That’s when they told us like, ‘Okay, you’re going to be a WWE Superstar,’ and I started crying. I couldn’t believe it … It was mind-blowing to me.”
Roxanne Perez & Her Time As An NXT Superstar
During her time with the NXT brand, Roxanne Perez became the winner of the inaugural NXT Women’s Breakout Tournament and had a frustrated NXT Women’s Tag Team Title run with Cora Jade.
Ever since Jade betrayed her during her title match with Mandy Rose, Roxanne Perez has been featured on a very heated rivalry with her former best friend, putting a stop to their rivalry on last month’s NXT Halloween Havoc special.
