As seen on social media, NJPW top tag team Aussie Open (Mark Davis & Kyle Fletcher) have officially signed with All Elite Wrestling.
Aussie Open are undoubtedly one of the most important tag teams not only in NJPW, but in the entire pro wrestling world. As a part of Will Ospreay’s faction, ‘The United Empire’, Mark Davis and Kyle Fletcher have captivated many fans around the world with the amazing performances they put in every single one of their matches.
During their time with NJPW, Davis & Fletcher achieved important milestones such as becoming IWGP Tag Team Champions, NJPW Strong Openweight Tag Team Champions and reaching the finals of last year’s NJPW World Tag League, where they lost to Bishamon (Hirooki Goto & YOSHI-HASHI).
Additionally, Aussie Open also made their AEW debuts last year and even competed alongside Will Ospreay in the tournament to crown the inaugural AEW World Trios Champions, coming up short against The Elite in the semi finals.
During tonight’s edition of AEW Dynamite, Aussie Open’s Kyle Fletcher had another huge opportunity to shine when he challenged the reigning AEW International Champion Orange Cassidy for his title. However, even though he came up short to the champion, his amazing performance has seemingly earned Aussie Open a valuable spot in the AEW roster.
As seen on social media, AEW President Tony Khan took to Twitter to reveal that Aussie Open have officially signed with the company. Additionally, Khan also praised Fletcher for his incredible performance and wished a speedy recovery to Davis, who is currently sidelined due to an injury.
Even though we don’t have any solid hint of the potential plans that Tony Khan has in store for them, we can all be sure that the future looks pretty bright for Aussie Open now that they are officially All Elite.
