The President of New Japan Pro-Wrestling, Takami Ohbiro, has been on the road recently. He travelled to the US to make an appearance at last week’s NJPW Windy City Riot event, and would proceed to appear at AEW Dynamite to join AEW CEO Tony Khan for the announcement of the AEW x NJPW: Forbidden Door PPV.
He also took part in an interview with Justin Barrasso of Sports Illustrated, where he discussed more about NJPW’s association with AEW, before returning to Japan. However, his return to his home-country was way more troublesome than anyone could ever possibly expect.
Mr. Ohbari explained in his official Twitter account that, during his way back home on a train, he had helped a little girl who fell and got trapped between the train and the platform.
先ほど帰国し電車で帰宅中です。数分前、やっと立てる位の女の子が電車とホームの間に転落。ホームに寝そべりお母様と協力して何とか引き上げました。小さな顔がやっと通る隙間でした。— 大張高己/Takami Ohbari (@TAKAMIOHBARI) April 23, 2022
The full message says: “I just returned (to Japan) and I’m on my way home by train. A few minutes ago, a girl who could barely stand fell between the train and the platform. She was lying on the platform, and with the help of her mother, we managed to pull her up. Her little face could barely fit through the gap.
Since I retired from volleyball, my height has never been so useful. My heart is still racing.”
Everyone here at Wrestling Republic is glad to hear that the young girl is out of danger and, as well as everyone who travelled on the train, thankful that Mr. Ohbari was there to help.
