Overall this was another solid G1 Climax night with a great main event and two other really solid matches that took place. Hiroshi Tanahashi, Sanada, Jeff Cobb and El Phantasmo all gain two points in their respective blocks. Tetsuya Naito is still at zero points, but everyone else has officially gotten on the board from tonight's matches. Solid show that is in the middle of shows, not one of the worst shows but not one of the best.
NJPW looks to have another solid night of action in the Tokyo Ota City Gymnasium after Night 4’s great show. We have Yujiro Takahashi Vs El Phantasmo for Block D with Yujiro having two points. Sanada Vs Taichi is a Block B match with Taichi having a lead over Sanada by 2 points. Jeff Cobb Vs Bad Luck Fale for Block A with Fale having 2 points. The Main event being Hiroshi Tanahashi Vs Tetsuya Naito in Block C Action, neither men having any points.
GOOD Yujiro Takahashi Vs El Phantasmo – Block D Match: This is one of the first Bullet Club Vs Bullet Club matches and it should be interesting. Yujiro attempts to pawn off Pieter to Phantasmo if ElP lets Yujiro pin him. Overall this was a mix of styles, a quicker and more athletic guy in Phantasmo Vs Yujiro who is slower and more calculated. It was a solid match that had a fun finish with Phantasmo trying to pull an Eddie with the house of tortures wrench. Phantasmo punched Yujiro in the crotch, took out Sho on the outside before hitting the ThunderKiss 96 splash. El Phantasmo walks out with Yujiro’s Bunny, Pieter.
Results: El Phantasmo by Pinfall via ThunderKiss 96

GREAT Sanada Vs Taichi – Block B Match: Overall this was a really good match that had some great sequences of counters including Taichi working on Sanada’s eye for a “limb.” There was some really good stuff in this match and the crowd was enjoying it a lot. With the win, Sanda ties Taichi with 2 points at this point in the series. Taichi almost had the position/role of the stronger or more dominant wrestler with Sanada being in a small underdog role. Sanada and Taichi share a fist bump in the middle of the ring before Taichi leaves.
Results: Sanada By Pinfall via “Euro” Clutch Roll Up.

AVERAGE Jeff Cobb Vs Bad Luck Fale – Block A Match: Overall this was an alright match, Jeff Cobb was in the position of being the faster and weaker guy with Fale being bigger and stronger. It took Cobb sometime to finally get a suplex on the big guy. Got the win with the Tour Of The Islands. Nothing special in this match but for what it was, it was fine.
Results: Jeff Cobb by Pinfall via Tour Of The Islands.

GREAT Hiroshi Tanahashi Vs Tetsuya Naito – Block C Match: Match starts off even with the crowd applauding the stalemate staredown. Tanahashi takes control of Naito after being unable to taunt him, he then does to tranquilo pose. On the outside Naito had a double arm lock letting it go at 18, throwing Tanahashi back into the ring not taking the count out win. Naito stays in control hitting a neckbreaker and a tower of london like neckbreaker for a nearfall. Naito gets his own taunting as he raises his fist in the air. Naito continues to work on Hiroshi as he stomps on his lower back area. Tanahashi catches the leg of Naito hitting the dragon screw to get some momentum on his side. Naito takes control with the corner combinacion (Running boot, leg sweep and slingshot dropkick to a seated Tanahashi). Naito gets his Gloria move before hitting a modified koji clutch that Tanahashi breaks with the rope break. Naito gets a spinebuster but Tanahashi counters Destino with a dragon screw. Both men engage in a battle of forearms before Naito rakes the eyes before working on Tanahashi’s neck. Tanahashi gets a couple of sling blades before getting a nearfall. Hiroshi sets up for the high fly flow and he turns it into the Aces High crossbody. He fails to hit the high fly flow right after but kicks out of a deep jackknife cover by Naito. Tanahashi counters the Destino with an inside cradle for the victory.
Results: Hiroshi Tanahashi by Pinfall via Inside Cradle
