NJPW have announced the official lineup for this year’s G1 Climax 33, which will feature 32 wrestlers battling for an opportunity to challenge for the IWGP World Heavyweight Title at Wrestle Kingdom 18.
NJPW are definitely having some very interesting weeks ahead, with some interesting matches and events looming on the horizon. And today was no exception, since the company has celebrated another enjoyable and action-packed event in NJPW Dominion 2023.
Even though there were some matches and moments that stole all the main spotlights, NJPW made an important announcement during the first half of the show that promises to shake the ground once again later this year.
Through a promotional video during the broadcast of NJPW Dominion, NJPW have finally revealed the official participants that will compete in this year’s G1 Climax 33. About this, the promotion revealed that the tournament will feature 32 wrestlers battling for an opportunity to challenge for the IWGP World Heavyweight Title in the main event of Wrestle Kingdom 18.
The full list of participants for this year’s G1 Climax 33 reads as follows:
- Kazuchika Okada – 12th consecutive appearance, 4-time winner (2012, 2014, 2021 & 2022) & Current NEVER Openweight 6-Man Tag Team Champion.
- Tetsuya Naito – 14th consecutive appearance, 2-time winner (2014 & 2017)
- SANADA – 8th Appearance, Current IWGP World Heavyweight Champion.
- Will Ospreay – 4th Appearance, 2nd Consecutive.
- Hiroshi Tanahashi – 22nd Consecutive Appearance, 3-Time Winner (2007, 2015 & 2018) & Current NEVER Openweight 6-Man Tag Team Champion.
- David Finlay – 2nd Consecutive Appearance, Current NEVER Openweight Champion.
- Shota Umino – First Appearance.
- Shingo Takagi – 5th Consecutive Appearance.
- Tomohiro Ishii – 11th Consecutive Appearance, Current NEVER Openweight 6-Man Tag Team Champion.
- Tama Tonga – 6th Appearance, 3rd Consecutive.
- Tanga Loa – 2nd Appearance, 1st in Two Years.
- Hikuleo – First Appearance.
- Hirooki Goto – 16th Consecutive Appearance, Winner in 2008 and current IWGP & STRONG Openweight Tag Team Champion.
- YOSHI-HASHI – 7th Appearance, 4th Consecutive, current IWGP & STRONG Openweight Tag Team Champion.
- Toru Yano – 18th Appearance, 17th Consecutive.
- KENTA – 5th Consecutive Appearance.
- Zack Zabre Jr – 7th Consecutive Appearance & Current NJPW World Television Champion.
- Taichi – 5th Consecutive Appearance, Current KOPW 2023 Champion.

The G1 Climax 33 will begin this upcoming July 15th in Hokkaido and is scheduled to reach its finals on August 13th, from the iconic Ryogoku Kokugikan in Tokyo. The fans will be able to follow all the action live and on-demand from NJPW World and FiteTV.
