According to a recent report from Dave Meltzer, Nikkita Lyons missed last night’s episode of SmackDown because she is unvaccinated for COVID-19.
WWE had been advertising for a few weeks now that NXT 2.0’s Zoey Stark and Nikkita Lyons would be teaming up in the NXT Women’s Tag Team Titles tournament, taking on the team of Natalya & Sonya Deville.
However, the match suffered an important change before happening at last night’s episode of Friday Night SmackDown, which took place from the city of Montreal in Canada.
WWE announced yesterday on their social media that Toxic Attraction (Gigi Dolin & Jacy Jayne) would be replacing Stark and Lyons in the match, which they eventually ended up winning and advancing to the next round.
This led many fans to wonder about what happened to both Zoey Stark and Nikkita Lyons.
According to a recent report from Dave Meltzer on F4W Online’s Daily Update, Nikkita Lyons was unable to travel to Montreal. Meltzer also explains that Lyons’ unvaccinated status for COVID-19 is the main reason behind that.
When explaining this, Meltzer stated:
“Lyons wouldn’t have been allowed to go as they didn’t realize she wasn’t vaccinated and thus couldn’t get into Canada.” (H/T WrestlingNews.co)
Now that we know this information, we can be sure that this report makes a lot of sense. Mainly because Canada has some strict immigration policies that requires any traveller with a proof of COVID-19 vaccination.
We Now Know About Nikkita Lyons, But What Happened To Zoey Stark?
Zoey Stark has apparently suffered an injury during her recent match with Mandy Rose, which happened at last Tuesday’s NXT Heatwave special.
The rumors say that the injury may be some type of concussion. However, there is not much information about it yet.
