MJF Pipebomb June 1st:
MJF’s Pipebomb on Tony Khan was definitely the best promo I’ve ever seen. The fact that this promo was able to make people feel all of his rage and frustration with every single word he said, while also redefining the limits of reality and kayfabe, is definitely admirable – Tomas Gramajo (News Writer)
Max torched Tony, it set up for his return at all out. It was talked out for months after the fact, and to me, it is the no brainer of the bunch. Maxwell Jacob Friedman’s Pipebomb 2.0 is my pick. – Clark Taylor (Reviewer & Republic Ramble Co Host)
MJF’s pipe bomb was easily the best promo of the year. Everything he said felt so real and if he went off script or not, that was one of the best moments in AEW’s history. I’m sure WWE will be knocking on MJF’s door when his contract expires – Archie Carter (News & Opinion Writer)

Realism is incredibly rare in modern wrestling. Most of the time, there are few moments where fans question whether or not what they are watching is a “shoot.” MJF’s pipe bomb did that better than any moment. – Matt Cookson (Review Writer)
This was an explosion of rage, frustration and grief. A man who knew he deserved more but was not granted it, was given a mic and some TV time to let his damaged and hurt heart emerge and communicate with the crowd. MJF sold himself like a priceless piece of art, that any wrestling promote would make the cuts needed to have him on for one show. The year was dominated with this promo, it made a crater in the wrestling community, simply because MJF does not drop pipebombs…..he drops nukes. – Soul (Host of Soul Sessions & Regular Guest on Take It To The Table)
Aew’s most explosive moment to date. – Dakota Mayes (News Writer)
MJF’s Pipebomb was to me the promo of the year. While I am not usually a fan of cussing in promos, in this one it made sense and was necessary. It blurred the lines of kayfabe and reality and will be a promo which many fans will remember for the rest of their lives. – Ben Allison (Owner Of Wrestling Republic and Graphic Artist)
Sami Zayn Becoming The Honourary Uce September 23rd:
The Night He Became The Honorary Uce – September 23rd 2022 is the promo of the year. Sami Zayn and his Honorary Uce storyline has be talked about none stop. His involvement in The Bloodline is considered some of the best story telling in the industry – Mark Mumby (News & Scouting Showcase Writer)
This promo was built on the strongest story being told today. I too everyone’s emotions on a roller coaster and gave fans what they wanted. Everyone contributed in the segment with their body language and facials. This showed everyone that Sami Zayn is the star of the storyline. – Ignacio Pinalez (Opinion Writer & Take It To The Table Guest)
Storytelling at its finest and the emotions this promo was able to give off and make you feel is phenomenal. Sami Zayn organically got over for just being himself. Not to mention Sami’s ability to make every single member of the bloodline crack this year. – Coby Galenzoski (Head of Reviews & Co Host of Republic Ramble)

Sami Zayn elevated himself into another level type of performer this year and this promo was the one that took him to it. The emotional connection that Sami was able to get with the audience when it appeared the Bloodline was going to turn on him but instead invited him to join the cool kids was tremendous. It was a roller coaster of emotions for the fans and was pure gold – Anthony Ricciardi (Head Of Opinions)
Could have cheaply given it to MJF Pipebomb but the Sami Zayn promo becoming Honorary Uce was just perfect. the tension between Jay and Sami and the way he was pacing up and down the ring thinking he was finally gonna be able to beatdown on Sami only for him to be silenced when Zayn was given the shirt. the look of sadness on Sami when he was told to take the shirt off and then the full embrace when he hugged Reigns. it was just perfect. Acknowledge the Bloodline – Chaos (Host of Take It To The Table)
MJF’s Promo on Childhood February 23rd:
MJF Childhood Promo, there is no doubt that the best at the microphone is MJF, the promo he made literally paralyzed all of us who were watching and listening, it could be said that it marked a before and after for MJF’s career. – Gabriela Boteo (News Writer)
While any of MJF’s promos in 2022 could be considered promo of the year, this one was my personal favourite because it showed a different side to him and added more dimension to his character. It was the first glimpse into the “face” version of MJF. – Olivia Quinlan (Head Of News)
We finally got to see MJF’s Villain Origin story play out. – Savannah Gall (Head Of Scouting Showcase & News Writer)
Ricky Starks on MJF December 7th:
In this promo, this really showed how Ricky has grown over the past few years where this may be the start of Ricky’s push and him to bask in the spotlight in AEW. – Suki (Japanese News Writer & Lions Of The Republic Co-host)
Christian Cage’s June 22nd:
Ok, ok, ok, I can hear the complaints now. If you truly believe that there have been better promos this year, fair enough, but did any one promo ignite a feud like this one? Christian was the most hated man in wrestling that night, and carried that momentum through the rest of the feud. Shame he picked up that injury otherwise the blow off would have been even more rewarding. – Ben Wagner (Opinion Writer & Lions Of The Republic Co-Host)
