MJF has been involved in a lot of controversy just before AEW Double or Nothing
The highly anticipated MJF Vs Wardlow match has been one of, if not the main selling point for many professional wrestling fans to purchase a ticket or buy the PPV for AEW Double Or Nothing on May the 29th.
Which is why many fans were anxious when reports started circulating that MJF had no showed an AEW Fan Fest event and had booked a flight home to Newark. This comes after reports of the relationship between MJF and AEW President Tony Khan is deteriorating due to an on going contract situation.
However, positive news for many fans has just come out via PWInsider who state that MJF has stayed in Las Vegas as of now, which means he has not flown back home. PWInsider has stated…
“For those who are asking (and there are a LOT of you), we are told MJF is still in Las Vegas as of this writing, which would mean he did not fly back to the East Coast, which until an hour or so ago remained a possibility. For those who are asking if the situation is a work, that is a big NO, but obviously everything can be retroactively converted into one if everyone gets on the same page.” (Via PWInsider H/T ringsidenews.com)
Hopefully this will mean that the long anticipated Wardlow Vs MJF match will take place as advertised on the AEW Double or Nothing PPV, with many fans wanting Wardlow to finally gain his revenge on MJF.
The Wardlow Vs MJF rivalry has been long hinted at, with some fans arguing Wardlow had not been treated in a very favourable way during his time as MJF’s bodyguard. The official rivalry begun when Wardlow helped CM Punk defeat MJF in a Dog Collar Match and since then Wardlow has been put through many trials and tribulations to get his match with MJF including a whipping and a steel cage match.
