As you may know, Liv Morgan is one of the kindest superstars in real life. She has inspired so many with her wrestling styles and her constant positivity.
This is why it is so saddening to see that a man lost everything he had because he thought he was helping out Morgan.
Liv took to Twitter to comment on the situation:
“Guys I’ve been sent so many emails of horror stories about people making fake accounts and emails pretending to be me & asking for huge amounts of money. This really makes me so sad. Please don’t use my name to con people out of their hard-earned money. Please please please,” (H/T The Sportster)
“A man sold his home and lost everything thinking he was helping “me”. This has me so sick. Please know I would never reach out to ask any of you for a single penny. I’m so sad. Please stop”
This doesn’t only apply to pro wrestlers as identity theft is the new problem celebrities have to face on social media. It has now become so easy to pretend to be someone else online and use that to your advantage.
We hope this unfortunate story can bring more awareness to what you do online and who you decide to trust.
