Konosuke Takeshita made his return at AEW Double or Nothing 2023, alligning with Don Callis and betraying Kenny Omega and the rest of The Elite.
AEW Double or Nothing undoubtedly had one of the most solid matchcards of the entire year. With a lot of interesting stories and rivalries reaching the breaking point, AEW definitely delivered a very entertaining and enjoyable show.
And the main event of AEW Double or Nothing 2023 was no exception, since we were all able to witness a vicious and action-packed Anarchy in the Arena Match between two of AEW’s strongest factions, which are The Elite and the Blackpool Combat Club.
After many violent spots and breath-taking near falls, the match reached its closing moments when Kenny Omega and ‘Hangman’ Adam Page attempted to finish off Wheeler Yuta with a Buckshot Lariat & B-Trigger combination, before being distracted by Don Callis.
When Omega attempted to attack Callis and get his revenge, a mysterious wrestler attacked Kenny and allowed Yuta to hit him with a screwdriver in the face before making the pin and scoring a huge victory for the Blackpool Combat Club.
The mysterious figure would later on be revealed as the Japanese rising star Konosuke Takeshita, who had been out of action for weeks after the BCC attacked him with a screwdriver to the face. Takeshita, who was handpicked by Omega himself to join The Elite, moved on to have his arm raised by Don Callis and stood tall over a beaten Kenny Omega.
There is no doubt that this moment became a huge shocker that closed an enjoyable night of wrestling. However, it is also important to mention that neither Don Callis or Konosuke Takeshita explained their actions, so we’ll just to wait and see what they have to say this next Wednesday Night on AEW Dynamite.
