A former NJPW strong talent has signed a deal with WWE NXT.
After spending more than four months as a free agent, Karl Fredericks has found a new home in the pro wrestling industry. According to a recent report from PW Insider, Karl Fredericks has reportedly signed a contract with WWE and has already begun working at the company’s performance facility. Fredericks will be on the NXT brand, according to the article.
In September 2022, Fredericks was initially noticed at the WWE Performance Center. Despite having said earlier that year that he didn’t see himself signing with any other companies, Fredericks indicated on Twitter a month earlier that his contract with New Japan Pro Wrestling had expired and confirmed that he would not be re-signing with the promotion.
Fredericks, 32, started his career in 2015 and joined the NJPW LA Dojo in 2018. After leaving the dojo, Fredericks usually competed for the promotion’s strong brand in the United States. In his final match for New Japan Pro Wrestling, Fredericks defeated QT Marshall in a singles match during a STRONG television taping in May.
Fredericks only competed in three independent matches after the match.
