The Shield is one of the most significant factions in pro wrestling history. The group took the world by storm and was one of the best parts of WWE throughout their time together. The trio of Roman Reigns, Seth Rollins, and Dean Ambrose changed the landscape of WWE. After the group broke up, all three became significant stars in the professional wrestling world.
The Shield

The Hounds of Justice debuted in 2012 at Survivor Series, where they assisted CM Punk in retaining the WWE championship against John Cena and Ryback. After the iconic debut, The Shield became one of the most dominant factions in WWE history, with their record as a trio being phenomenal. They all won gold in the group, with Ambrose winning the United States Championship and Rollins, alongside Reigns winning the tag team belts. As a trio, they were in some incredibly entertaining storylines. For example, their feuds with the Wyatt family, Evolution and CM punk were legendary. Even after they broke up, the three men reunited a couple of times, much to the fans’ delight.
The Members Today

The idea behind a faction is to help elevate those in the group into main event talents. It is safe to say that happened when it comes to The Shield. After the group broke up, they all went on to win the WWE championship and other titles within the company. You could argue that all three are the biggest names in pro wrestling today. Firstly, after moving to AEW, Jon Moxley, the wrestler formerly known as Dean Ambrose, has put on some spectacular matches and is one of the prominent names in the company today. Rollins is currently the world heavyweight champion and is one of the best talents WWE has seen enter a ring. Finally, Reigns is in the middle of his historic title reign as he holds the WWE Universal Championship. A huge reason why they had so much success is because of their time in The Shield.
They have all produced memorable moments throughout their careers, and pro wrestling wouldn’t feel the same without them.
