Since debuting on NXT and up to the main-roster, Matt Riddle has gone through the highs and lows of new talent, yet he has been able to overcome many obstacles that other superstars have sadly not been able to overcome.
Riddle has had a surprisingly good run as of now and there are many pros to him exceeding expectations because it proves that talent can still get over in WWE despite the hardships that might come.
Within this article, I want to explore how Riddle’s run is already exceeding expectations and how his success might affect how WWE hopefully handles their new talents, and most importantly, how they make it to the main roster.
As we already are aware, WWE has failed during the last couple of years when it comes to creating new stars or even utilizing their call-ups in a good way. Talents such as Killer Kross had been turned into a joke after having a good run in NXT, yet with Riddle, his character work since joining the main roster has been great.
Something that has made Riddle’s main roster run a huge success as of now is simply by not changing who or how he was.
Riddle’s presentation has resonated with audiences, and a huge reason for that has to be due to his team up alongside Randy Orton. The strange yet compelling relationship between Orton and Riddle has proven to be engaging to the point where fans themselves do not want them to split.
It is inevitable that the relationship between Riddle and Orton will go downhill eventually, and that will be what makes or breaks Matt Riddle as a legitimate talent. In a company where young talent has a hard time adjusting to the environment in WWE, Riddle has been able to handle every single aspect smoothly with ease.
Something that has made Riddle’s main roster run a huge success as of now is simply by not changing who or how he was, he acts the same way he used to in NXT, and they just added more layers to his character, unlike other talents where what makes them special is taken away from them.
Riddle’s success should be an example for those that believe that there is no way to achieve great things in WWE. It is true that we are in a time when talent can become stars outside WWE, but it is never too late to create new stars. Riddle has everything on his arsenal to become a success, here’s for a long and lasting run for my bro.
