Eventually, McIntyre decided to leave WWE and join the indie scene under the name Drew Galloway. He performed for many promotions, such as PCW, WCPW, and Impact wrestling. During his time away from WWE, Mcintyre faced many great opponents. For example, he had matches with Cody Rhodes, John Morrison, and Brian Cage. McIntyre had such a great run on the Indies that WWE had no choice but to bring him back.
McIntyre won the NXT and WWE titles during his second run in the WWE. He has played a babyface most of his time on the main roster. The 38-year-old has won the Royal Rumble match and beat Brock Lesnar in the main event of Wrestlemania. McIntyre has done everything he can as a face. It could be time to see what he can do as a Heel.

The first thing that comes to mind for a heel McIntyre is a feud for the world heavyweight title with Seth Rollins. McIntyre and Rollins would have a good rivalry for the belt. Furthermore, Rollins needs more heel challenges, and McIntyre could provide a perfect threat for the title. It is easy to see McIntyre holding the belt as he is a big name in the company and could be an outstanding heel champion. McIntyre would be a tremendous main-event heel if given the chance.
