Ever since the Don Callis Family was formed I have believed the faction could have significant potential in AEW. In this article I’ll be discussing how I believe AEW should book The Don Callis over the coming months, detailing why I believe they should be top contenders for the Tag Team titles
How it all began
The Don Callis Family faction started after Konosuke Takeshita turned on Kenny Omega at the Double or Nothing PPV. It established the new alliance with Don Callis which I would say it has benefitted Takeshita. He first pinned Omega at the All In PPV in a match between Golden Lovers & Takeshita with Bullet Club Gold then followed up with a victory at All Out against Omega the very next week. I think this subsequently established Takeshita as a potential new top tier heel especially aligned with Callus.
Addition of Sammy Guevara
At AEW Grand Slam, we saw the addition of Sammy Guevara to the group when he turned on Chris Jericho. I think this was a good move as it allowed to let’s say allow Sammy to step out of Chris’s shadow. The addition of Guevara definitely adds an interesting dynamic to the group especially alongside Will Ospreay, Takeshita and Powerhouse Hobbs. I was happy to see the group’s victory at Wrestle Dream only adding to the group’s momentum.
Powerhouse Hobbs
On a recent episode of Dynamite, Powerhouse Hobbs was added to The Don Callis Family which I think this is a great addition. With another former TNT Champion it adds more prestige to the group. Another thing is that as the muscle of the group it will allow them to be more dominant in several aspects. It will be interesting to see where the storyline goes between them and Omega, Jericho and more.
Reason why they should win the titles
With Will Ospreay already being the IWGP US (UK) Champion I would say providing added gold for the group would only solidify them as an added threat especially with the momentum they already have. One option is adding the AEW Tag titles to the group with Takeshita and Guevara winning them. I would say them winning it from a team like a popular team would be controversial however add heat to the group.
Alternatively winning the Trios Tag team titles with the trio of Powerhouse Hobbs, Takeshita and Guevara winning the titles. The only downside to this is The Acclaimed being in the early stages of their reign so it is very unlikely they would lose the titles so soon.

- Powerhouse Hobbs as the FTW Champion
I think the future is bright for the Don Callis Family if booked correctly.
