AEW finally had their blood and guts match last night on live dynamite May 6th 2021 and in my opinion was better than any NXT WarGames match.
NXT had their first WarGames match on November 18th 2017 and every year since it has become a yearly tradition for the brand and I think they have changed people expectations of the WarGames match for the worst.
NXT unlike past WarGames matches decide to have no roof on the structure which I think harms the purpose of the match to have no escape and I feel the reason for the structure having no roof is for more high risks moves off the top of the cage.
Another issue I have with NXT waGames is the pacing of the matches were I feel takes away from the danger of the structure. As every NXT WarGames match does once all competitors have enter the match they bring weapons such as chairs and ladders, tables ETC which in my opinion harms the danger of the cage itself .
AEW did the WarGames to perfection for me as they had the perfect balance of old school WarGames feel mixed it with this generation style of wresting without any weapons and this really added to the danger of the cage itself and I also feel the blood added so much this match as it gave it more of a fight feel which is what this match needed to be.
I feel AEW Blood and Guts was better than any of NXT WarGames because I think AEW did a better job on the storytelling for this match rather than NXT approach of high risk spots and big table moves.
AEW used the cage wonderfully showing the true danger of the cage were NXT doesn’t really make the cage feel a threat. And where I feel AEW succeeded mostly was the fight feel where at times I felt they just wanted to hurt each were NXT feels like big after big with very little of that big fight feel

I didn’t agree with this statement completely, ofcourse it was a good match, not because of the blood which is created for accomplishing that name but because of the moves and performance of the wrestlers.
1) you say that the reason for the structure having no roof is for more high risks moves off the top of the cage and it’s true but that doesn’t harms the purpose of the match to have no escape because it’s the rule once you enter the cage you’re in the wargames you cannot win by escaping the cage ,if you go outside the cage you will be disqualified.
2) AEW does use chairs in this match, when it coy to the cage matches everybody expect some chair shots and kendo stick shots.If we talk about tables we can see people are chanting for table in the first NXT wargames also it gives more intensity and agressiveness ,like the blood work did for AEW
3) If we talking about story telling every past wargames hast its own story telling and it’s continuation

Some times that cage look like it’s shaking over a wind because of its poor built quality. when wrestlers hitting on the walls of the cage it’s feel like the Cage is going to collapse and at one point a wrestler fell outside the ring through the edge of the cage. This is the condition of your so called “Cage of brutality “. And if you say it’s the first time for AEW , NXT does a better war cage in thair first time
The performance of wrestler were amazing Sammy guavera does an amazing job .The finishing could have make better if they placed the bed 5 cm below the single piece of cardboard instead of small pieces thay could have get a crashed and safe landing
For me NXT wargames > AEW blood and guts
Thay could make better next time if they learn from mistakes.
