Preview: NXT 2.0 saw the debut of A-Kid getting a victory over Kushida, so it’s a question if that will put more eyes on this wonderful show that is guaranteed to deliver with every episode they release. Tonight is one of the odd shows we get four matches. Tonight on the line up we got Tyler Bate Vs Oliver Carter as Oliver and Ashton look to get back into title contendership. Our two mid card matches are women’s matches in Emilia McKenzie Vs Nina Samuels and Aleah James Vs Stevie Turner. All 4 women want to be next in line depending on who wins between Isla and Meiko. The Main Event sees an NXT Vs NXT UK battle between Roderick Strong Vs Wolfgang. All that and more tonight on NXT UK.
GREAT Tyler Bate with Trent Seven Vs Oliver Carter with Ashton Smith: If you had any doubts that NXT UK wouldn’t have a banger match for the first match since they got crowds back, this match blew expectations out the window. Tyler Bate is so good for his age and Oliver Carter, a relatively newer star, was able to hang with him in the ring. These guys had a solid match without having a finish that ruined either guys. Tyler Bate and Trent Seven are continuing to build up to a split with Trent/Ashton’s distraction, and Oliver Carter gets a huge upset victory over Tyler Bate. Solid match that will be hard for Trent and Ashton to top.
Results: Oliver Carter By Pinfall via catching crucifix pin.

A Kid was asked about who his tag partner will be for an upcoming tag team match with Die Familia, and goes to Saxon Huxley who is getting a photoshoot, haha. Saxon yells out the same quote from when A Kid was trying to teach him to be calmer before saying Yes. The Camera fades as A-Kid is proud to have a partner. Short unrated promo but a fun little one.
Wild Boar is shown in what looks to be a dark garage and cuts a promo on Eddie Dennis before claiming he is looking to get revenge on Eddie for what he did to him. Another unrated promo.
GOOD Emilia Mckenzie Vs Nina Samuels: There are a handful of things that give me second thoughts about this match. Yes this was a match that was given a good amount of time but I don’t exactly know if they needed to go that long. There were a handful of bumps that did not look too clean, for example the back body drops. But then there were nice and unique moments like the suicide dive, the dropkick sending Emilia into the ropes, Nina had a very clean moonsault bump, and Emilia had a good looking spear. Overall this match had a few ups and a few downs. I do believe they exceeded my expectations for what they did in this match. Solid work from both but nothing perfect.
Results: Emilia Mckenzie By Pinfall via the Spear.

Mark Coffey exited Sid Scala’s office as he was excited as he got a title shot against Noam Dar. Joe Coffey seems hesitant to root for Mark in the upcoming match but Mark and Noam will have a solid match.
Kenny Williams was asked about Sam Gradwell as he went into the small locker room. A note was on his locker that said “ You’ve made a lot of enemies, cockroach!!! Tick Tock Tick Tock.” It wasn’t noted who put it but the tick tock tick tock seems different from what Sam would say but the cockroach thing is. Nothing special but maybe Mark Andrews will be coming back? I don’t know his injury status.
Eddie Dennis is talking to Sid Scala, as he doesn’t want to face Wild Boar after being told Wild Boar is requesting a match with Eddie. He pitches both Tyson Vs Wild Boar and Primate Vs Wild Boar, probably both matches that will happen before Eddie faces Wild Boar.
AVERAGE Aleah James Vs Stevie Turner: Commentary really was putting over Aleah, saying this match will show her progress of growing as a competitor. As Stevie had beaten her before. I think this was a pretty solid match, it went shorter than the other women’s match. Nothing too much, but nothing that stood out in a negative aspect. Aleah James got the win with a nice European Clutch but I disliked Stevie just sitting there looking shocked, then pissed without doing anything.
Results: Aleah James By Pinfall Via European Clutch

In terms of a funny promo, Sha Samuels being a bookie for Noam Dar’s matches and them laughing at someone betting on Mark Coffey to win is just ironic and enjoyable. After the tease, I think they might give it to Mark for the upset. Short unrated promo but worth a watch for a laugh. Mark Coffey Vs Noam Dar in two weeks.
Meiko and Isla Dawn comment on next week’s match, Solid promos in the promo package. Isla’s character development has been very good to me and I think after this promo, I could easily see Isla Dawn winning the title next week.
GOOD Roderick Strong Vs Wolfgang: Wolfgang was built to look really good against Roderick Strong but I think this didn’t match my expectations. Roderick Strong is such a good wrestler and Wolfgang might not have been able to keep up. This match went shorter than the opener, and felt a little limited. I do like Commentary bringing up Wolfgang being the Regulator for ICW as a mention of his past. I liked the finish being Roderick dodging a spear and getting the jumping Knee. After the match Roderick gets a short 30 second promo about big money fights and how Roderick Strong Vs Ilja Dragonuv is going to be one. Roderick Strong challenged Ilja Dragonuv.
Results: Roderick Strong By Pinfall Via Jumping Knee

Overall, NXT Put on another good and entertaining show for the common “Wrestling” fan, like they always do. The opener was a fun match up showing two athletic wrestlers competing at a high level in Oliver Carter and Tyler Bate. Oliver got a nice upset victory in the match that had Tyler getting distracted by Ashton and Trent getting into a yelling match. The crowd for NXT UK is back and was hot for both Tyler and Oliver. The midcard consisted of two matches that had different lengths, so they weren’t copies of each other. Emilia McKenzie Vs Nina Samuels had the better match, with some cool spots that both women got to do and the crowd were hot for Nina and turned on her throughout the match. Solid finish to this match. Stevie Turner Vs Aleah James was a shorter match that had alright qualities, but I personally do not like Stevie Turner’s gimmick and I think is limiting her potential. The main event saw a factions collide type match having Wolfgang of Gallus Vs Roderick Strong of the Diamond Mine. Overall the Main Event had a shorter time slot and fell a little short of being a better match than the Opener. Roderick Strong closed the show by challenging Ilja Dragonuv in what will be a much better match.
