The WWE Universe will be returning to SmackDown for the first time in 16 months tonight, as the show takes place from the Toyota Center in Houston.
With this being the first show back in front of fans, it’s almost certain that lots of surprises will be in store. One of these is a new look and feel to WWE’s Flagship show.
Over the past few hours the following image of the new stage has leaked on social media:

The image shows the entrance video of the Universal Champion, Roman Reigns, on a huge LED screen. One notable thing about the new stage design is that it appears there is no elevation to the stage, and that the entrance ramp is completely flat. Another piece of information this image gives us is that the SmackDown logo will not be changing, as the existing one can be seen on the apron of the ring. Finally the image also confirms that the commentary desk on SmackDown will not be moving and it will stay where it is.
WrestleVotes took to Twitter earlier today to report that the stage design for SmackDown will be the same stage used for Raw, apart from a possible few small changes.
“Being told the new entrance stage is set up in Houston. It looks like a giant tron, but will be very impressive for the fans watching at home. Also hearing the same set (possibly w/ a minor difference) will be used for both RAW & SmackDown.”
