Will Ospreay recently was interviewed by Wrestling Republic’s Eric Novak on the All Real Wrestling Podcast.

In this interview, Ospreay talks about his mental health after one of his best friends passed away.

“That was literally one of the worst periods of my life. I felt like I let the entire world down and I was just pushing myself. I was killing it in the gym, I was killing it in my diet. I was like the worst I’ve ever been, everyone knows like my mental side of things I was going down and down and down. I got a phone call from Alice’s mum, and it was to let me know that Ryan passed away. Ryan is one of my best friends. Still to this day I can’t get over it and it was only then I told New Japan about all my issues because I was masking it so hard and New Japan did so much for me,” Ospreay said.

“This is why I think I will end being with New Japan for life because they stuck by me so much. They got me all the greatest doctors, I was being looked after so well. I will never forget what New Japan did for me, I can’t tell you enough how much I love this company for everything they’ve done for me throughout 2020. I will never forget it and I will never forget those people.”

Ospreay has been working in NJPW for a while and is a former IWGP World Heavyweight Champion. The NJPW star has been involved in many classic matches such as against wrestlers like Okada.
