EC3 has revealed how he has brought meaning back to the wrestling move the Superkick.
On the latest episode of Wrestling Republic’s, The Soul Sessions (Hosted by Soul). EC3 joined the session to discuss Control Your Narrative (CYN) but as well discussed the newly announced Rules and Regulations within CYN.
EC3 spoke to Soul and would discuss many topics surrounding CYN as well as the way that the wrestling business is in its current state.
EC3 spoke about doing flips and dives as well how he feels about them in the current state of wrestling:
“I can do flips I don’t think people know that, but I choose not to. Other guys do it better and then, if they can. Here’s a quick story. Because we talked about how I banned moves from the narrative, uh yesterday. One of them is the tope suicida, which I would do all the time, swoosh and then everyone is doing it, Swoosh, swoosh, swoosh. Like to the point that it means nothing. Like everybody, swoosh, okay cool but I remember. I was teaming with Daniel Bryan, in the NXT days and we did this sequence we called it and we hit through the ropes two time tope to our opponents and I’m watching it back and… mines was good but then I looked at his. It’s the same move but his was better and I’m like if he is doing it better, then I don’t need to do it. If he’s the best at it, why do I want to present something sub-par to the best. I don’t, so that was kind of my wakeup call and that’s a basic wrestling psychology that is lost.”
Next, EC3 discuss his reason for banning the superkick and the reaction from the internet wrestling community:
“By banning these moves, people are freaking out right. Think about how often there used and mean nothing anymore and in one Instagram post, I have made them mean more than they ever met. Since, Shaun Michaels was beating people with it. Not ever. By banning it, it means more now and think of the hypothetical scenarios that take place. What is someone that only hits superkicks, superkicks someone in one of my matches. They get their ass thrown out of the building, what if they do it behind the officials back and all of a sudden that leads to them winning the match. What a cheater. I think that’s genius.”
At that point in the interview, the narrator joined in as both him and EC3 went on to discuss the banning of moves:
Narrator: We are also going to ban geographical heat.
EC3: Yes, so guys on our show…
Narrator: Like we are in Dallas and just cr*p on the cowboys or sport rival to get over.
EC3: If you want that go somewhere else.
As well, both of them confirmed that the CYN rules will be updated over time with new things being added to the list of current rules. Also, EC3 laughed as he stated there could be around forty-three more rules.
Finally, EC3 addressed those who may claim a hypocrisy with banning moves in CYN:
“Real fast, I understand. ‘You’re in control but your taking away moves’, I never said I wasn’t a hypocrite.”
Then Narrator jumped in saying:
“We are trying to challenge the fighters to find other ways to performs. We are at the point now that um, a Canadian destroyer has been abused for twenty years.”
EC3 then continued saying:
“It’s cool as hell but as soon as Bad Bunny did it, it kinda jumped the shark for me.”
