On Sunday September 5th AEW presented All Out, one of the most anticipated wrestling events in recent memory. The PPV was not just being watched for the in-ring action, but also for who may show up as new acquisitions to All Elite Wrestling. The fans would not be disappointed with either.
The night was capped off with the debuts of both Bryan Danielson and Adam Cole. Closing the show after Kenny Omega retained his AEW Heavyweight Title. Cole was the first big surprise, as he joined The Elite with one emphatic super kick to Jungle Boy.
The celebration would be short-lived when Danielson’s music hit for the second huge pop in minutes. Danielson, with the help of Jurassic Express, would chase the champion, Cole, and the rest of The Elite from the ring. The fans had been on pins and needles waiting for the rumored stars to arrive, but not many predicted both to debut on the same night.
CM Punk made his first AEW in-ring appearance in his first match in 7 years. Just a few weeks ago Punk had his own AEW arrival that fans are still talking about. When asked about Danielson and Cole joining the ranks in the post All Out Media Scrum, Punk quickly responded “Pardon my Lewdness, but I got a boner.”
Punk fresh off his victory earlier in the evening over Darby Allin went on to say “Adam Cole is a guy I never wrestled. I know I’m going to sometime. I look forward to it. Daniel Bryan is a guy I have wrestled, and I look forward to it. That’s somewhere down the line, too. It’s literally – I’m a kid at Christmas. I unwrap a gift, I don’t know what’s in it, it could be Adam Cole, it could be Daniel Bryan, Kenny Omega, Young Bucks, it could be Will Hobbs, Ricky Stark. I mean, it’s just endless. I’m so happy, right now.”
Punk, Cole and Danielson are just three of the former WWE signings now making major headlines in AEW. Earlier in the evening Ruby Soho, formerly Ruby Riot made her debut winning the Casino Battle Royale and is now in line for a title shot. To Punk’s point, with more rumored superstars expected to become All Elite the possibilities are endless, and exciting. AEW seems poised to do big things moving forward, but only time will tell how this influx of star power will work out for AEW.
