Chris Jericho’s contract extension with AEW will see him earn $3 Million a year and act in a backstage capacity.
Chris Jericho has been one of the primary attractions in AEW since the company began in 2019. His AEW run alone is admirable, having won the AEW World Heavyweight Championship once and performing in some notable feuds.
Jericho is currently the ROH World Champion, an amazing feat at this stage in his career. Fortunately for Chris and his fans, he still has plenty of gas left in the tank.
Chris Jericho will be giving more to AEW in the coming years as he’s just recently signed a lucrative contract extension. Jon Moxley also signed an extension earlier this month, and his and Jericho’s are not too different.
What Are the Details of Chris Jericho’s Extension
A press release stated Jericho’s new contract will run through 2026, with the extension beginning after his initial contract is up. His current contract runs until January of next year, so his extension will not take effect until after.
Chris Jericho’s current contract has him earning $3 million a year since the last extension that he signed last year. He will now be making even more when his new extension takes effect, but with new duties added on.
Jericho will also be working in a backstage producer capacity, as well as a creative advisor for Tony Khan. This extension is officially the biggest of Chris Jericho’s 32-year career, which has spanned multiple promotions.
Sadly, this puts a WWE return for one last run as an unlikely scenario even if he doesn’t re-sign with AEW. He will be 55 years old when he has the option, so his age may not permit him to continue.
