Chelsea Green has revealed that her WWE return came about after she texted Triple H asking to return to the company once he took over creative.
In a recent interview on “Out of Character with Ryan Satin” WWE star Chelsea Green revealed the story behind her return to the company and her unyielding determination to pursue her goals.
Green candidly shared that her journey back to WWE commenced with a simple text message to Triple H, where she expressed her unwavering desire to reclaim her position within the company. To her surprise, Triple H responded positively and requested a phone call with her.
The tenacious wrestler emphasised the importance of not feeling embarrassed when it comes to asking for what one wants. Green recounted how she fearlessly pursued opportunities in WWE, continuously and unashamedly persisting until she achieved her objectives. Expressing gratitude for her dream job, she explained how it enables her to provide for her family, care for her beloved animals, and reside in sunny Florida.
“I texted him (Triple H), and I said, ‘I want my job back,’ and he said, ‘Okay, call me,’ and I was shocked. I want to go back to WWE. My story is not finished. He said on that phone call, ‘I absolutely would love to have your back. Just tell me when’s a good time for you to start,” Green revealed.
Green questioned the societal notion of feeling embarrassed to ask for things, stating, “At the end of the day, why are we embarrassed to ask for things? I will never understand that. I have asked to work for WWE probably 100 times, and I am not embarrassed about that one bit. I have my dream job. I’m doing exactly what I want. I get to help give my family what they want. I get to feed my amazing animals and live in Florida. Why would I be embarrassed that I had to ask somebody for that, that I got it? I have no problem asking for it now just like asking on Tough Enough, and I had no problem asking for my very first tryout in 2014.”
Chelsea Green made her much-anticipated return to WWE during the 2023 women’s Royal Rumble match, but she had actually been back under contract for a few months prior to her on-screen appearance. Green discussed the intricacies of her return in an interview with Ryan Satin on “Out of Character.”
“I was waiting to find out when my surprise return would be for months,” Green disclosed. “The Royal Rumble was perfect, and just the way the entire day came together and those five seconds will live on forever. I really think it was the perfect way to come back.” When asked if WWE was withholding her debut to find the right character for her, Green responded, “I think so, and a matter of, ‘When is the perfect opportunity to put her in? Let’s figure out a way to surprise people, and maybe they know it’s going to be at the Royal Rumble, but how, they’re never going to know.’ So I thought it was perfect.”
Ultimately, Green entered the Royal Rumble as the twentieth participant and was swiftly eliminated, setting a new record with only five seconds in the ring. Currently, she is teaming up with Sonya Deville on Monday Night Raw, with the duo set to compete for the vacant WWE Women’s Tag Team Championships this Monday.
