Much to the surprise of everyone, the lumberjacks in the match between The Miz and Damian Priest last night at WrestleMania Backlash…….were zombies. It was later revealed that the reason for the zombies was to promote the upcoming ‘Army Of The Dead’ movie produced by Zack Synder, which stars WWE legend Batista. Earlier in the day Batista foreshadowed the appearance of the zombies by taking to Twitter to say ‘Wishing good luck to all the WWE Superstars competing tonight at #WMBacklash . Sorry I couldn’t make it … but some of my friends will. #ArmyOfTheDead @WWE’ https://twitter.com/davebautista/status/1394030800727851011?s=21 The appearance of…

Last night during WrestleMania Backlash, it was revealed that the Hell In A Cell PPV, which usually takes place in October, has been moved to June 20th, when many expected Money In The Bank to take place. At this moment in time there have been no reliable reports or official news to explain why this switch has been made, however many fans have already made sensible speculations about why. The first bit of speculation is that the event was moved because WWE want the show to happen while they are still in the WWE Thunderdome, considering the major praise the…
Despite a severely lacklustre build to the show, hopes were still high for WrestleMania Backlash. On paper the card looked extremely strong with every match having the potential to be great. GREAT: Backlash opened with a fantastic ‘cold open’ surprisingly hosted by WWE legend Batista! The promo hyped up the nights events and significantly increased my excitement for the night ahead. GOOD: WWE followed this up with another promo package, but this one taking an in depth look at the Raw women’s Triple Threat. Of course all three women in this match are insanely talented so I did have some…

Last week, 205 Live had two wrestlers debut, this week, this trend continued with Asher Hale making his 205 Live debut. Ari Sterling, who debuted last week, was also on the show as he faced Tony Nese in an exciting main event. AVERAGE: Ariya Daivari faced off with Asher Hale (who made his 205 Live debut!) to kick off this edition of 205 Live. It is good to see new faces in 205 Live, but even putting that aside, the match was still decent. A couple of great near-falls really helped the match pick up steam towards the end. could’ve…
WWE didn’t do as good as you’d expect on Smackdown this week. This week just more average than usual. With a slow opening hour to a pretty good main event, this didn’t feel much like a go home show. GREAT – We open up Smackdown with Jey Uso introducing the WWE Universal Champion, Roman Reigns. Roman Reigns comes down to the ring and tells Jey they have to address two things, Jimmy Uso and Cesaro. Roman starts off by saying he likes Cesaro, that he thinks he’s one of the best wrestlers in the world. But he can’t beat Roman…
Following becoming the first ever Indian ONE Heavyweight World Champion this morning after defeating Brandon Vera by TKO, Arjan Bhullar laid out a “warning shot” to both AEW & WWE. Arjan is an experienced grappler but has never stepped into the squared circle as a professional wrestler. He was formerly signed with UFC, but now Bhullar has found a home with ONE Championship on a long-term deal. Here is what Arjan had to say following his big win over Brandon Vera this morning: “I have reached the pinnacle of this sport, now, I want to attack the pro wrestling industry.…
Andrew Zarian of Mat Men Pro Wrestling is reporting that WWE are planning on having fans returning between July 16th -19th. An episode of both Raw and SmackDown happen during that timeframe. https://twitter.com/matmenpodcast/status/1392961137352790018?s=21 It was not noted whether or not this would be a permanent return, or just a temporary one, with some suggesting Live events could run on the Saturday & Sunday, or a PPV could even take place during the weekend, however the source did not note this. Several sources have previously reported that this years SummerSlam will have fans in attendance, and WrestleVotes recently stated that the…
Zelina Vega could soon be making her return to WWE. Vega was fired from WWE last November after continuing to stream on Twitch despite the company’s third party platform edict. She could soon be making her return to the company though, as Fightful Select reports that Vega recently visited the WWE Performance Center where she filmed some content. The context behind her visit isn’t yet clear, however it was noted that the plan is for her to return to the company. It should be noted that she hasn’t streamed on her Twitch channel since March of this year. Vega’s husband…
