WWE superstar Austin Theory recently sat down for an interview with Mirror UK to discuss his current role on Raw. Since being drafted in October, Theory has been seen in programs with former world champions Rey Mysterio and Jeff Hardy. Recently, he’s begun a feud with Finn Balor. This current program comes as part of a story he’s in with WWE owner and Chairman Vince McMahon, which started at this year’s Survivor Series when he stole his golden egg. A prize gifted to him by The Rock himself.
Theory stated, “so, I think those ideas came around because I stole a hundred-million-dollar egg. These lessons that Vince is teaching me, I don’t think he would have taught me in this way if I didn’t do what I did. I think everything happens for a reason. I’m not telling anyone to steal a hundred-million-dollar egg or even a million-dollar egg, but somehow, it worked out for me.” (H/T Wrestlinginc.com)
Ever since Theory stole McMahon’s egg, the two have shared numerous segments as Vince tries to educate the rookie in lessons he doesn’t seem to always get. This is a very prominent role as not many stars get to share the screen with the boss. When asked about what he is getting out of these interactions, Theory named it knowledge and always be on your toes.
“I’m getting a lot of knowledge, and the biggest takeaway from Mr. McMahon is to expect the unexpected,” said Theory.
Along with his segments with the boss, Austin Theory has been featured in many prominent spots during this run. He was given a title shot against WWE Champion Big E on the November 22 episode of Raw in a losing effort. His most recent feud against Finn Balor saw him attack the Prince on the December 6 episode. He would then cost Balor and Damien Priest a tag team match against the Dirty Dawgs after he distracted Balor. Theory almost got a victory over his foe on this past week’s episode of Raw but ultimately came up short in his effort. Despite this loss, he will be receiving a rematch against Finn next week.
