Asuka makes it clear she wants the WWE Women’s Championship from IYO SKY. The match is set for the September 22nd SmackDown.
On the September 8th edition of Friday Night SmackDown Charlotte Flair would team up with Shotzi in a tag team match.
They were against the WWE Women’s Champion IYO SKY and Bayley of Damage CTRL. Dakota Kai of Damage CTRL was also there watching at ringside. Dakota Kai would also be running some interference in the match.
During the match Asuka would appear and make her return behind Kai. This would cause a major distraction for Damage CTRL. Asuka would grab the WWE Women’s Championship belt.
Shotzi would hit a modified DDT on a distracted Bayley and score victory after gaining pin-fall. She would then get in the ring and square off with SKY.
She made it very clear to everyone in the WWE Universe and SKY she wants the title back. Bianca Belair would defeat Asuka and Charlotte Flair at SummerSlam for the WWE Women’s Championship Title.
IYO SKY won the championship after cashing in her Money In The Bank briefcase and defeating Bianca Belair.
Later that night on SmackDown Damage CTRL would do a backstage interview with Kayla Braxton. Bayley would state “Asuka should keep her distance or we will put her on the shelf like we did Bianca Belair”.
Bayley would say she would take care of Asuka, but SKY would state she is ready for Asuka.
The match would be made official after SmackDown went off air. Asuka will challenge IYO SKY for the WWE Women’s Championship on the September 22nd edition of Friday Night SmackDown.
