It is now time for September 2026 best matches of the month list. Please keep in mind these are just my opinion of the best matches I saw this month and is not a definitive list and is not the official Wrestling Republic ratings and rankings.
I’m sure there are matches that I may have missed but there are only so many hours in a day and only so much wrestling I can watch. So, please feel free to suggest matches in the comments, as it is possible, I haven’t seen them or maybe they just didn’t make my cut. If I haven’t seen it and I’m able to check it out, it may make my end of year top 25 matches list. If it just didn’t make my cut, if I have time and I’m able to I’ll re-watch the match and re-consider it for my end of the year top 25 matches list.
The top 25 list at the end of the year will be in order.

MATCH OF THE MONTH: Roman Reigns vs Penta – Raw – 9-14-26
As a whole not a super stacked month, but there is no question that Reigns and Penta put on one of the best matches of the year. Reigns is one of the best to ever do it at elevating talent just from being in the ring with him even if Reigns is the one going over. There are certain individuals that want to badmouth Reigns but it isn’t hard to see Reigns knows how to make his opponents look strong. When everyone was convinced that Penta was going to be destroyed in Mexico that isn’t what we got. Reigns took Penta’s offense including a destroyer which no one expected him to take. He allowed Penta to look strong even in defeat going toe to toe with one of the most dominate world champions of all time. WWE gave this match the time it needed and the presentation where it felt like a big fight which is what you want to feel in a match like this. No question Penta’s stock increased because of this match and he is a future world champion.
