Best of the Best
It is now time for my May 2023 best matches of the month list. Please keep in mind these are just my opinion of the best matches I saw this month and is not a definitive list and is not the official Wrestling Republic ratings and rankings.
I’m sure there are matches that I may have missed but there are only so many hours in a day and only so much wrestling I can watch. So, please feel free to suggest matches in the comments, as it is possible, I haven’t seen them or maybe they just didn’t make my cut. If I haven’t seen it and I’m able to check it out, it may make my end of year top 25 matches list. If it just didn’t make my cut, if I have time and I’m able to I’ll re-watch the match and re-consider it for my end of the year top 25 matches list.
The top 25 list at the end of the year will be in order and will be made up of my Match of the Month winners, which are guaranteed a spot and the remaining 13 slots will be other top matches from my monthly lists.

MATCH OF THE MONTH: MJF vs Sammy vs Darby vs Jungle Boy – AEW Double or Nothing
Although the build up to this match wasn’t the absolute best, these men have been the “pillars” of AEW since the launch of the company. This was a guaranteed money match on paper and these men absolutely delivered. This maybe one of the greatest fatal 4-way matches of all time and on a very short list of one of the greatest matches in AEW history. There is no question these men are the present and future of this business and they bring out the absolute best in each other.
