AEW Revolution 2025 brings a loaded card that delivers 6 phenomenal matches. 6 matches that are very well done, with variety and as a whole are the ones to watch from this event. With stories being put in the limelight, Swerve got the Embassy robe back for his manager Prince Nana. To Will Ospreay overcoming both Kyle and Mark. Kenny Omega escaped Takeshita with a victory that gave him his second singles title in AEW. Hangman Page overcomes the scumbag.
This show lacks the ability of things to breathe, with three back to back five star matches, that is amazing to see from a wrestling standpoint. But neither had time for the crowd to rest. All three of the last matches having parts of the match with a weaker crowd. In retrospect three absolute bangers back to back is a great idea but also sets up one of the weakest main events AEW have ever had. Adam Copeland and Jon Moxley were set up to fail in this match and it showed. The card placement is the only thing that is the glaring issue and negative for otherwise a phenomenal wrestling show that still as a whole proved AEW’s bread and butter are the PPVs.
AEW Revolution 2025 is a loaded card. Stacked with a rematch for the ages. Kenny Omega and Konosuke Takeshita collide for the second time and international champion. Kazuchika Okada faces Brody King. Kyle Fletcher and Will Ospreay one more time, this time in a steel cage. A Hollywood Ending is set for Mariah May and Toni Storm with their third and final Women’s World Championship match. Two of AEW’s top star have a first time ever match with MJF taking on Hangman Adam Page. Swerve and Ricochet battle for number one contendership. While Adam Copeland is on a mission to defeat Jon Moxley for the AEW World Championship.

MUST WATCH Hangman Adam Page Vs MJF: AEW Revolution 2025 Opening Match
Fundamentals: 0.75
Atmosphere: 1
Storytelling: 1
Psychology: 1
Innovation: 1
What a match, MJF and Hangman had their first full on singles match. Revolving around the current dynamic of the Hangman being the fan favourite, being the fans choice for a lot of things. MJF’s disdain is on full display. MJF’s technical ability controls a good portion of the match, working on the shoulder that Adam Page slammed into the steel steps. Great work with the Salt Of The Earth and a cross face. Even hot Max stopped Adam from getting the ropebreak was clean. Hangman gets a moonsault off the barricade into a tombstone set up but Max counters and hits a tombstone onto a set up chair. MJF’s hatred was on full display with him yelling in his face. Hangman’s shoulder/arm and neck is damaged and ends up getting a nasty angel’s wings. Page wins with the buckshot lariat in a tremendous, high quality PPV opener.
Results: Hangman Adam Page by Pinfall via Buckshot Lariat

AMAZING Mercedes Mone Vs Momo Watanabe – AEW TBS Championship:
Fundamentals: 0.75
Atmosphere: 0.75

This is a very well done match. Building around the work of Mone and Momo. Momo showing her strength within her stiff striking, specifically her kicks. There is great psychology surrounding Mone’s work and Momo. Fun near falls and the eventual set up for the Mone and Statement Maker. Weaker crowd with a story that really only revolved around the match. Rough timing spot where Mone was waiting for a bit for Watanabe because she might have rolled her ankle.
Results: Mercedes Mone by Submission via Statement Maker

MUST WATCH Swerve Strickland Vs Ricochet – Number One Contendership:

Wow what a crowd so for Swerve Strickland and against mister Bald Ricochet. This is a phenomenal match from start to finish. Ricochet having his first singles AEW PPV showcase with a standard bearer. With Nana leaving ringside early on in the match, you knew he would be back. The Embassy robe which Ricochet defaced was grabbed by Nana as he attempted to take it back. From a vertebreaker on the announce table to a vicious DVD that was definitely rough on the outside. Psychology wise, the kickouts started to become excessive closer to the end with several kick outs before the eventual Big Pressure. After a move like a vertebreaker, it felt like the nearfalls were over what I can count with one hand. Very high quality match from bell to bell though.
Results: Swerve Strickland by Pinfall via Big Pressure

GREAT Kazuchika Okada Vs Brody King – AEW Continental Championship:
Fundamentals: 0.75
Atmosphere: 0.75
Storytelling: 0.75
Psychology: 0.75
Innovation: 0.50
Kazuchika Okada is not the tallest or biggest in this match. Kind of a funky thing to think about within this match. Brody was able to control and dominate Okada with his power and his chops. Typical to Okada’s character he tries to use the cheap tactics, using the Continental Championship to end up getting the advantage. Okada wins but thats about it. A good and solid match but nothing more.
Results: Kazuchika Okada by Pinfall via Rainmaker

GOOD The Hurt Syndicate Vs The Outrunners – AEW World Tag Team Championships:

The most filler match on the show. This really was just on the card to get the Hurt Syndicate on the card. The crowd are behind them with the We Hurt People chants. Hurt Syndicate win with Lashley hitting a spear.
Results: Bobby Lashley by Pinfall via Spear

PERFECT Toni Storm Vs Mariah May – AEW Women’s World Championship, Hollywood Ending Falls Count Anywhere: AEW Revolution 2025 Best Women’s Match
Fundamentals: 1
Atmosphere: 1
Storytelling: 1

This was certainly something for a rather short but brutal war. With May and Storm both bleeding heavily, the use of broken glass, the blood stained heel and several table spots. This is a war and this is what it needed to be. Its a shorter match but its a sprint, its a war, its a death matchy-esque match. The crowd was firmly behind it all and gave them the flowers as both laid on the stage nearly bleeding out.
Results: Toni Storm by Pinfall via Storm Zero Through a Table
Coby Galenzoski WR Star Rating – 5.00 Stars
PERFECT Konosuke Takeshita Vs Kenny Omega – AEW International Championship:
Fundamentals: 1
Atmosphere: 1
Storytelling: 1
Psychology: 1

This is the opposite. With Kenny and Takeshita going for a slower, longer and methodical match. Revolving around Kenny’s damaged mid section, both table bumps where done in a unique/rare way but also continued to work on Kenny’s mid section. This is hard hitting with both men getting their moments, their offense. Very enjoyable high spots with Kenny hitting a springboard sunset bomb. The Blue Thunder Bomb, The Raging Fire, The V Trigger and everything. Even a fighting spirit one count. By the end of this match, Kenny barely escapes with the win after using just a simple leverage pin with a crucifix hold. Everything this match needed to be.
Results: Kenny Omega by Pinfall via Crucifix Roll Up
Coby Galenzoski WR Star Rating – 5.00 Stars
PERFECT Kyle Fletcher Vs Will Ospreay – Steel Cage: AEW Revolution 2025 Match Of The Night
Fundamentals: 1
Atmosphere: 1
Storytelling: 1
Psychology: 1

Numbers do not lie in this case. This is a bloody war. Kyle Fletcher controlling the pace as Will is a bloody mess. Its a long period between the start of Will’s blood and Kyle’s blood. Mark Davis even breaking the padlock to get a bag in. With a barbed wire baseball bat. Amazing sequences, moments and very close nearfalls. There are too many great things to say about this match but it is a war.
Results: Will Ospreay by Pinfall via Tiger Driver 91
Coby Galenzoski WR Star Rating – 5.00 Stars
GREAT Jon Moxley Vs Adam Copeland – AEW World Championship: AEW Revolution 2025 Main Event
Fundamentals: 0.75
Atmosphere: 0.75
Storytelling: 0.75
Psychology: 0.75
Innovation: 0.50
Controversially this is a weak match of the night. Its not out right brutal or anything that psychotically bad. Comparatively to the sprint, the methodical, and the war. This match was a very weak and hard to handle main event after the last year. Jon Moxley works on the neck of Copeland which is smart. A rough looking Paradigm shift, a stomp onto the concrete. The crowd arguably was out of it, this was a weak main event for most of the match. Things heated up with the ref bump, bringing out Yuta as he still sides with Moxley. Jay White makes the save and chases Yuta out.
Copeland gets three spears but the ref is pulled out by Christian Cage. Cage cashes in. With a spear to Copeland, Christian gets a nearfall. The crowd are back at this point. He hits a killswitch but Moxley looks in the bulldog choke. Christian nearly pins Copeland during the choke but ends up being put to sleep barely 2 minutes into the cash in. A cash in arguably the worst in history, a slow and dull match that bastardized Copeland’s spear with no many nearfalls to hide from the fact that the match needed run ins to be exciting.
Jon Moxley escapes and goes into the crowd and in the area where he came out, Prince Nana arrived. Swerve Strickland needed the event by Swerve Stomping Moxley off of the railing.
Results: Jon Moxley by Submission via Bulldog Choke on Christian Cage
