The long-awaited AEW video game may be released soon as information and images have leaked online.
AEW has been developing a video game since 2020 in partnership with Yukes Co. Titled AEW: Fight Forever, the game may finally be approaching its long-awaited release date.
Just today, a Twitter user by the name of Wario64 posted Amazon links to preorder the game. Said links have the game listed for a December 31, 2022 release date, although they have since been removed.
Another Twitter user named TheSDHotel today posted what is believed to be the cover for the game. It features some of the company’s top stars such as Chris Jericho, Kenny Omega, Brit Baker, Jon Moxley, Jade Cargill, and CM Punk.
Along with the cover being leaked there are also images of the gameplay and some game details. If the leaks are to be believed, a big focus will be the online co-op mode.
According to Amazon, it will combine the nostalgic arcade feel with the diverse moves and finishers of AEW. It will feature current stars and legends to make for one of the most diverse wrestling games ever.
Single, tag-team, 3-way, 4-way, ladder, Casino Battle Royale, Falls Count Anywhere, Unsanctioned Lights Out, and Exploding Barbed Wire Deathmatches are among the match types that will be available.
For more information, the Amazon page described the game:
Developed by YUKE’s Co, Ltd., creators of numerous, multi-million unit selling wrestling games, AEW: Fight Forever combines that nostalgic arcade-wrestler feel with innovative All Elite Wrestling finishers and tandem offensive moves. All Elite Wrestling is currently taking TNT and TBS networks by storm every week with their Rampage and Dynamite shows, featuring some of the biggest legends to enter the ring plus a stable of brand new, high-flying, AEW talent. AEW: Fight Forever brings the best of the best from that talent roster together in one game! Online co-op wrestling is going completely next level in Fight Forever with Tag Team matches that feature sequences of team maneuvers performed with simple commands. A deep career mode, wrestler customization, signature AEW arenas, multiple match types, and more match types than you can count, including some good old-fashioned, unsanctioned fun, all await!
None of this information has been confirmed, but AEW may make an announcement soon if the release date is accurate. YUKE’S CO, Ltd., is the developer behind some of the most iconic wrestling games ever.
Their credits include “WWE SmackDown! Here Comes The Pain,” “WWE SmackDown! Shut Your Mouth,” “SmackDown vs. Raw, “WWE 2K14,” and many other notable titles. The game is also rumored to release in September, but both speculated dates put the game coming out around fall and winter.
AEW may soon announce the official date if the leaks are to be believed, but for now, the wait continues.
