Tony Khan has announced that CM Punk will be part of the inaugural AEW Collision event, which will mark his first AEW appearance since September 2022.
It has been some time now since CM Punk made his last appearance in All Elite Wrestling. The well remembered backstage fight between ‘The Best in the World’ and The Elite after All Out 2022 definitely made everyone in the pro wrestling world notice the complicated situation in AEW backstage.
Ever since that moment, more news about tensions and backstage heat started to resurface in many pro wrestling sites around the world.
However, after slamming a pro wrestling journalist and making some controversial comments on his Instagram stories, CM Punk’s return to AEW television is now more a reality than an expectation.
As seen during tonight’s edition of AEW Dynamite, AEW CEO Tony Khan has finally revealed that CM Punk will be making his return to AEW television very soon, while also naming an exact place and time for his return.
About this, Khan revealed that ‘The Best in the World’ will be a part of the inaugural ‘AEW Saturday Night Collision’ show, which is scheduled to take place this upcoming Saturday June 17th from the United Center in Punk’s hometown of Chicago, Illinois.
Khan provided no further details about the potential plans for Punk’s return or the official matchcard for the event. However, it is important to mention that the show will feature high-caliber talents like Miro, Samoa Joe, Andrade El Idolo and Thunder Rosa to name a few.
