The Japan Pro Wrestling Hall of Fame announced today that the 70th Anniversary of Japan Pro Wrestling History, entitled “LEGACY,” will be held later this year. On September 14th and 15th, this performance will be held in two clashes in Korakuen Hall. New Japan, All Japan, and Noah are among the nine groups who have agreed to participate.
This year celebrates the 70th anniversary of Japan’s first professional wrestling show, which took place on September 30, 1951, in the Ryogoku Memorial Hall.
The “Japan Wrestling History 70th Anniversary Tournament” has also been announced by the Japan Wrestling Hall of Fame. Below is the statement from them

The Japan Wrestling Hall of Fame (NPH) was founded in 2020 as a non-profit organization dedicated to preserving the history of Japanese wrestling and its stars for future generations. Genichiro Tenryu’s daughter, Ayana Shimada, Tatsumi Fujinami’s son, LEONA, and Riki Chosu’s son-in-law, Shintaro Ikeno, lead the executive committee. HJT Production, Antonio Inoki, Tatsumi Fujinami, Riki Choshu, and Genichiro Tenryu, who handle the late Giant Baba’s picture, are supporting members of this group. Cooperating organizations include New Japan, All Japan, Dainippon, DDT, DRAGONGATE, Noah, and 2AW.
On behalf of the executive committee, HJT Production Co., Ltd., Mr. Kimitoshi Ogata, Mr. LEONA, and Mr. Ayana Shimada attended an informal news conference on the 17th. The footage will be available on the Japan Wrestling Hall of Fame’s official YouTube channel at a later date. In addition, representatives from nine participating organizations have made statements in reaction to the tournament’s decision to take place.
